    1

Ride along the Dansereau — La Liseuse bike path

With great trails and amazing scenery, Portneuf is perfect for anyone who likes biking. Top of our list is the Dansereau — La Liseuse bike path along the Jacques Cartier River. There’s very little change in altitude, making it accessible for everyone, even families. We recommend parking in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier mid-morning and biking to Pont-Rouge to arrive just in time for lunch.

Taste Québec’s famous Neuville sweet corn

Once back at the car, take a trip to Chez Médé, a farm that grows the Québec City region’s famous Neuville sweet corn. There’s nothing quite like it! The Médé farm stand is overflowing with local products, and there’s even a mini-museum dedicated to vegetable farming.

Take the time to eat at a local restaurant

For dinner, head to Chez Moi, a restaurant owned by a former diver from the French Riviera. It’s a place where time slows down and a door opens to a world of incredible flavours—including many from the sea.

Looking for more good eats? There’s also Dinette du Cap, a nice little bistro located in a house built in 1846.

Go on a tour of Fromagerie des Grondines

The food keeps coming at Fromagerie des Grondines, a cheesemaking operation that takes visitors on a guided tour of the barn, milking parlour, cheesemaking room, and the cheese cave. The tour draws to a tasty conclusion with a sampling of organic raw-milk cheeses.

Pick up a cheese or three from the Grondines shop for a very special picnic in Portneuf’s regional park.
