The days that are getting shorter and the weather cooler urge us to spend as much time as possible outdoors and to make sure we are not missing the awe-inspiring spectacle of the fall foliage. Here are our suggestions of activities and events to put on your agenda in October.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving Long Weekend

Live this colourful three-day holiday to the fullest! On the program: a visit to Old Québec and its transformed landscape, gourmet discoveries, a walk in beautiful urban parks, and many other activities to put on your agenda.

Get in the Mood for Halloween

Immerse yourself in the Halloween atmosphere by visiting fully decorated venues and by participating in activities organized for the occasion throughout the month of October.

Admire the Fall Colours

There are so many beautiful parks to enjoy the bright fall days without making long trips. Whether on the Plains of Abraham, in Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve, or in Marais du Nord, a pleasant stroll awaits.

Sample Local Beers

Map out your own craft brewery tour in the city center or take a little road trip to the surroundings. There are about 40 microbreweries in the area, and the number keeps increasing! In October, a stop at Microbrasserie des Beaux Prés, near Mont-Sainte-Anne, is a must. Its patio looks out over the St. Lawrence River, making it a great place to watch the snow geese as they migrate south.

Take a Hike to Admire the Spectacular Landscapes

Many hikers put on their boots during this month when the colours are at their peak, especially during the first two weeks of the month. Check out our suggestions for the best places to hike around Québec City. Psst! Also get inspiration from our favourite trails to enjoy the fall colours, including the legendary Les loups trail at Jacques-Cartier National Park.
