What to Do in Québec City in October
The days that are getting shorter and the weather cooler urge us to spend as much time as possible outdoors and to make sure we are not missing the awe-inspiring spectacle of the fall foliage. Here are our suggestions of activities and events to put on your agenda in October.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving Long Weekend
Axelle St-Clair, With Axie
Live this colourful three-day holiday to the fullest! On the program: a visit to Old Québec and its transformed landscape, gourmet discoveries, a walk in beautiful urban parks, and many other activities to put on your agenda.
This long weekend is also the perfect excuse to book a stay in a unique accommodation, a cottage, or a resort.
Get in the Mood for Halloween
Immerse yourself in the Halloween atmosphere by visiting fully decorated venues and by participating in activities organized for the occasion throughout the month of October.
Admire the Fall Colours
There are so many beautiful parks to enjoy the bright fall days without making long trips. Whether on the Plains of Abraham, in Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve, or in Marais du Nord, a pleasant stroll awaits.
Be Among the First to Experience a One-of-a-Kind Architectural Space
On October 22, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec opens its doors to Espace Riopelle – Pavillon Michael Audain, a new pavilion of international significance dedicated to one of Québec’s greatest artists, Jean Paul Riopelle. To mark the opening, the museum will present special programming from October 22 to 25, featuring talks, performances, and artistic experiences.

Noctem Artisans Brasseurs
Map out your own craft brewery tour in the city center or take a little road trip to the surroundings. There are about 30 microbreweries in the area, and the number keeps increasing!
In October, a stop at Microbrasserie des Beaux Prés, near Mont-Sainte-Anne, is a must. Its patio looks out over the St. Lawrence River, making it a great place to watch the snow geese as they migrate south.
Take a Hike to Admire the Spectacular Landscapes
Vallée Bras-du-Nord, Frédéric Plumey
