Brahms, un requiem allemand

Orchestre symphonique de Québec

Three centuries of music come together in this concert, opening with Claude Vivier’s Chanson à la mort, inspired by his travels in Asia. Mozart’s celebrated Symphony No. 40 follows, blending dramatic tension with luminous melancholy. The second program of the Brahms Festival culminates in the deeply moving German Requiem, a monumental work shaped in part by the loss of his friend and mentor Robert Schumann.
