Overlooking City Hall Square, the Basilica-Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Québec stands as one of the oldest and most significant religious monuments in North America.

Built on the same site since 1647 and designated a National Historic Site of Canada for its architectural value, it bears witness to the evolution and heritage of a people. The cathedral houses the tombs of four governors of New France, those of the bishops of the Diocese of Québec, as well as a funerary chapel dedicated to François de Laval, the first bishop of Québec.
