A quick calculation brings you to the conclusion that Québec City is, by far, the best-endowed region of all. The destination has 5 major centers − Mont-Sainte-Anne, Vallée Bras-du-Nord, Les Sentiers du Moulin, Empire 47 and Le Massif de Charlevoix. Constant growth by way of quality infrastructures is the mainstay to welcoming growing clienteles. Beyond each season’s fresh crop of new trails that are designed and built by experts, neighbouring tourist establishments have also upped their game, treating visiting riders to a memorable sports-centric stay, and a first-class cycling vacation.

Here is a selection of bike-friendly lodging around Québec City, all just a spin of the pedals away from the region’s top mountain bike trails.

    Delta Mont-Sainte-Anne

Eat, Sleep, Ride, Repeat. Yep, it’s easy to repeat when you are bunking down at the foot of the trails, at Mont-Sainte-Anne – and only 30 minutes from Le Massif de Charlevoix! The Delta Hotels by Marriott, Mont Sainte-Anne, Resort & Convention Center is an excellent option for combining these two mountain biking destinations, while staying a mere 30 minutes from downtown Québec City. From its 4-star perspective, it offers cyclists pure perfection in complete simplicity.

Tucked away on the edge of wilderness where nature is both abundant and generous, here you can enjoy tranquility and that pleasant feeling of getting away from it all, but with a huge choice of guest units and services. In total, 210 studios and condos with contemporary charm are yours to choose from, including several with mezzanine and fireplace. Back from a cool rainy day outdoors, why not do cocktails by a comfy fire?

Cycling tip: The Delta is only 100 metres from the gondola that whisks cyclists to the summit to discover the mountain’s downhill and enduro trail network (28 km), renowned for its breathtaking World Cups and technical trails. However, over the past years, two beginner and intermediate downhill trails have been created to democratize this lovely peak! Or… why not invest in a one-ride only gondola ticket? That way you enjoy the magnificent view and ride back down to the base, with the option of merrily continuing your day over in the cross-country sector that spans a sprawling 130 km. The best of both worlds, on two-wheels!

Beyond cycling: Fans of the great outdoors are sure to find their nirvana. A hiking trail network of 20 or so kilometres zigzags down the mountain, in addition to the region’s signature trails, a.k.a. La Mestachibo, Le Sentier des Caps and Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area’s hiking trails. To explore even more terrain, Canyon Sainte-Anne is a must. Only 10 minutes from the Delta by car, here you can admire an impressive 74-metre waterfall (even higher than Niagara!). Several observation points and suspended bridges add to the trail’s excitement − not to mention its Air Canyon adventure, a sort of merry-go-round in nature that soars over the canyon at a roaring 50 km/hr.
