    1 Québec City's German Christmas Market

    Late November to Mid-December

    In the heart of Old Québec, exhibitors of this authentic outdoor European Christmas market offer delicious traditional products like mulled wine, gingerbread, and grilled sausages, as well as decorative items made for the Holiday Season. 

  • 2 Festilumières (Aquarium du Québec)

    Late December to February

    The Festilumières features all kinds of fun activities in a unique outdoor circuit illuminated including marine animals, a slide for children and a musical atmosphere.

     

  • 3 New Year's Eve in Québec City

    Late December

    It’s on Grande Allée that New Year is being celebrated with a Ferris wheel, carrousel, heated outdoor patios and electro pop shows. On New Year's Eve, two free shows get the crowd bouncing followed by spectacular immersif fireworks.

    4 Québec Winter Carnival

    Early February

    Québec Winter Carnaval is one of the world's largest winter carnivals! Every year, thousands of visitors flock to Québec to enjoy a host of activities for all ages including night parades, ice sculptures and Bonhomme's Ice Palace. 

     

  • 5 Mois Multi

    February

    A wonderful opportunity for those interested in learning more about the new forms of multidisciplinary and electronic art and meeting artists from here and abroad. The only festival of its kind in Québec.

  • 6 Québec City St.Patrick’s Parade

    March

    In a colourful family atmosphere, clover-emblazoned floats, piping bands and local dancers will march to celebrate Irish presence in Québec City.

  • 7 ImagiNation Writers’ Festival

    Late March to Early April

    Canadian writers and emerging artists will be present for literary events such as readings, discussions and book signings.

  • 8 Québec Exquis

    May

    Discover Québec City's famous gastronomy at friendly prices. Special menus featuring local products are prepared during the event. Renowned chefs are paired with regional producers to offer tasty meals in the best restaurants.

  • 9 Carrefour international de théâtre

    May

    This theatre festival showcases about ten works chosen from among the best from the national and international repertoires. Over 50 performances, a dozen works in progress and 35 activities where festival goers can meet creators and performers. 

  • Sporting Events

    Come cheer the sports elite during exciting competitions.

    10 Québec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament

    February

    Over a thousand young hockey players from 15 countries will compete for top honours during the world’s biggest minor league hockey event.

  • 11 Snow Pentathlon

    February

    Presented on historic Plains of Abraham, the Snow Pentathlon is a one-of-a-kind multisport event open to all that comprises skating, skiing, snowshoeing, running and biking. The organization is also hosting the second edition of the Québec City ITU Winter Triathlon. 

  • 12 La Grande Virée des canotiers (Ice Canoe Race)

    March

    Spectators will get an eyeful of extreme athletes during that event where competitors have to cross the icy St. Lawrence River in a canoe.
