Le concerto pour violon et violoncelle de Brahms
Orchestre symphonique de Québec
Powerful, spectacular, and breathtakingly intense, Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra opens the program with one of the landmark orchestral works of the 20th century. The concert then turns to the lyrical beauty of Brahms’ Double Concerto, where violin and cello engage in a passionate, expressive dialogue leading to the celebrated “Hungarian-style” finale, driven by irresistible Gypsy-inspired rhythms. The evening concludes with Ravel’s legendary Boléro, whose unforgettable crescendo, hypnotic rhythm, and haunting melodies build to one of the most iconic climaxes in music history.
