Ballets Jazz Montréal returns with a new creation by Jo Strømgren, a master of contrasts and tender ruptures. In this fractured fresco, thirteen performers move through the shadow of life’s end to celebrate the light of the encounters that shape us. Onstage, a community is woven, unraveled, and rediscovered. Under the watchful eye of a sensitive ghost, gestures become suspended memories—impulses that speak of love, friendship, loss, and the silences that say everything.

In both voice and body, everything wavers and vibrates: celebration embraces melancholy, nostalgia flirts with the urgency of living, and farewells resound with renewal. The scenes unfold to music steeped in symbolism, like so many heartbeats—intimate, impassioned, dizzying. The final revue is a sea of light, a cathartic tribute to what survives oblivion. A haunting and visceral journey, where dance becomes a refuge, a ritual, an act of resistance, and an uncompromising final joy.
