Interpretation Centres

Open to the public for self-guided tours in the summer, this interpretation centre focuses on granite, a valuable commodity that is the pride of the municipality of Rivière-à-Pierre. The quarries here are famous for producing some of the best granite in the world. At least twelve types of this rock can be found in Rivière-à-Pierre, though not all are currently being extracted. Learn all about the fascinating granite industry: from quarrying and processing to sales and practical applications. Videos on this topic are shown onsite.
