Une Traversée

In the ruins of her war-torn home, a young girl plays with a kitten and invents fantastical stories to survive and make sense of a shattered world. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, Une Traversée follows her journey through imagination and resilience, where play becomes a vital act of resistance against despair and absurdity.

Using puppetry and object theatre, creators Natacha Belova and Tita Iacobelli draw the audience into a poetic, child-sized world where fantasy confronts the madness of war.

Founded by Iacobelli and Belova, Compagnie Tchaïka has become a major voice in contemporary puppetry, acclaimed internationally for works like Tchaïka, Loco, and Sisypholia. Une Traversée premieres in November 2025 at the Théâtre de la Cité in Toulouse during the Festival Marionnettissimo.
