DARKMATTER

In DARKMATTER, Cherish Menzo and Camilo Mejía Cortés, joined by a distorted rap choir, explore new ways of perceiving the body and reality. Drawing inspiration from posthumanism and Afrofuturism, Menzo envisions the body as matter in transformation—somewhere between science fiction and cosmic poetry. Using hip-hop–inspired movements slowed down through the Chopped and Screwed technique, she stretches time and gesture to create new readings of the body.
DARKMATTER ultimately seeks to reshape how we see ourselves, others, and the complex world around us.
