Parc de la Chute-Montmorency
Parc de la Chute-Montmorency
At 83 m (272.3') high, a full 30 m (98.4') taller than Niagara Falls, the Montmorency Falls are as spectacular a sight in the summer as in the winter.
They are located in a park of the same name only 15 minutes from Old Québec. This is one destination you will not want to miss, as it is where the St. Lawrence River stretches out not far from the base of the cliffs.
During your visit, you get to choose between wonder and adventure. Take a cable car to the top of the cliff to admire the falls from a unique vantage point. The view is breathtaking, even in the winter! Cross the suspended bridge to the belvedere, where you can feel the power of the river as it thunders past.
For the daredevil in you, zoom over the plunge pool on the zipline 300 m (984') in the air.
You can also discover the site's fascinating history by taking part in a guided tour. In the summer, you can have a picnic at the historical orchard and test your endurance by climbing the 487 steps of the panoramic staircase. Food lovers will be delighted to enjoy a meal at the Manor's terrace restaurant.
*Note for the 2025 season: Major construction work is underway at the top of the waterfall. However, the park remains open throughout the duration of the project. Visitors are encouraged to use the lower parking lot.*
