Charles Darwin's theory of evolution changed our worldview. Many other great naturalists, geologists and paleontologists, as well as explorers, collectors and even artists, have contributed to progress in the natural sciences and the creation of the first museums. A skeleton of a sabre-toothed tiger, a cursed amethyst, a mummy of a cat, a meteorite from Mars and a handwritten page from Darwin's On the Origin of Species are but a few of the 200 natural history treasures loaned to the Musée de la civilisation by London's prestigious Natural History Museum.
