Many other great naturalists, geologists and paleontologists, as well as explorers, collectors and even artists, have contributed to progress in the natural sciences and the creation of the first museums. A skeleton of a sabre-toothed tiger, a cursed amethyst, a mummy of a cat, a meteorite from Mars and a handwritten page from Darwin's On the Origin of Species are but a few of the 200 natural history treasures loaned to the Musée de la civilisation by London's prestigious Natural History Museum.
