How nice is this time of year when we can start wearing lighter clothes again! As we find ourselves in a bit of a transitional period between two seasons, we often wonder what to do to fully enjoy spring in Québec City. Check out our suggestions.

Explore and Shop in the City's Neighbourhoods

Let yourself be charmed by the springtime excitement and the unique features of the various neighbourhoods. To learn about the city's fascinating history,  a guided walking tour is highly recommended.

Looking to add a few new pieces to your wardrobe? Take a stroll along Québec City’s picturesque shopping streets, where you’ll find unique boutiques with items by local designers and artisans.

Take Advantage of Off-Season Rates

At this time of the year, most hotels offer lower rates than usual, along with discounts and special offers. Whether it's in the heart of Old Québec, at a resort, in a cottage, or in unique accommodations, it's an excellent way to break free from the routine!

Indulge in a Traditional Sugar Shack Meal

Treat your taste buds and stock up on maple syrup for the coming year in one of the sugar shacks of the region.

An excellent choice for a delightful urban experience is to wander over to the urban sugar shack at the Grand Marché de Québec.

Take In Amazing Exhibitions

We learn, reflect, and marvel in museums. With its rich history, Québec City is filled with museums where history is told in an engaging manner.

The exhibitions not-to-be-missed this spring:

  • Rembrandt - Etchings from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen: Explore the iconic engravings of the renowned Rembrandt in a major exhibition starting on April 25th at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
  • Wrestling. Quebec in the Ring: Discover a fascinating exhibition about wrestling, co-produced by the Museum and the creative company Ex Machina with its artistic director, Robert Lepage. This exhibition starts on March 20th at the Musée de la civilisation.

Enjoy the Last Days of Spring Skiing

Cruise down the slopes under the warm spring sun and enjoy the best après‑ski of the season at any of the 4 ski hills in the Québec City region. Weather permitting, Mont-Sainte-Anne should offer the longest ski season by extending its operations until April 21, 2024.

Discover the Richness of the Religious Heritage

Step into Québec City’s rich religious heritage. Where will you start? Your options include the first Catholic parish in North America, the oldest pilgrimage site north of Mexico City, the only holy door in the Americas, and the first Anglican cathedral built outside the British Isles.

Relax in a Nordic Spa

Lounging in a hammock, dining in a bathrobe, relaxing in an open-air hot tub... The cool days of spring are perfect for taking a relaxation break at one of the Nordic spas in the city or its surroundings.

At Sibéria Spa or Nordique Spa Stoneham, escape by the river in a wooded environment. At Spa des Neiges and Strøm Spa Nordique, relax in outdoor baths with a view of the St. Lawrence River.
