Did you know there are the fantastic outdoor activities just waiting for you minutes from Québec City? We’ve mapped out a three‑day plan that gives you the chance to relax in nature or work up a sweat in a spectacular outdoor setting.

Day 1: Cross Awesome Waterfalls

At Montmorency Falls Park, you’ll be blown away by the beauty and power of this natural wonder just 15 minutes from the city centre. The waterfall is 30 metres (almost 100 feet!) higher than Niagara Falls and flows with thousands of litres a second. You can admire the torrent from the suspended walkway above the falls or, if you’re feeling brave, cross the abyss on a double zipline. What a rush!

Spend a few hours exploring Canyon Sainte-Anne, with its impressive cliffs, rushing river, and powerful cascades that go tumbling down the gorge. Walk along the paths and cross the three suspended bridges. Go zipping across the void at nearly 50 km/h (30 m/h) on the tandem Air Canyon. Or try scaling the rocky cliffs on the via ferrata for a thrilling adventure that rewards you with spectacular views.

Book a sunset sea kayak excursion along the shores of Île d’Orléans and see Québec City from a gorgeous new angle.

Day 2: Explore a Majestic Glacial Valley

Head out to Jacques-Cartier National Park. On your way, make a stop at Québec City’s Grand Marché (Farmer's market) to pack a local picnic. Discover one of Québec’s most beautiful glacial valleys, with an endless winding river and impressive mountain plateau rising up on either side. Feel like hiking? How about rafting, canoeing, kayaking, or paddleboarding? Just take your pick!

Soothe your sore muscles with a relaxing stop at Nordique Spa Stoneham or Spa nordique Sibéria

Day 3: Pick an Activity Among the Most Popular

There’s no shortage of options when it comes to outdoor sports around Québec City.

  • With four different places to go mountain biking, the Québec City area boasts the biggest trail network in Eastern Canada. There are plenty of beginner trails, so if you’re new to the sport, this is a great chance to get out there.
  • If road biking is more your thing, rent a bike at one of the local shops and go exploring in any direction along one of the numerous bike paths in the area, many of which leave from the city centre.
  • Need an adrenaline rush? Spend an afternoon river rafting, canyoning, or making your way through a tree‑top obstacle course.
