Félix-Leclerc Cycling Route

Road Biking

The circuit is very simple. Just follow route 368 which surrounds the island for 67 km, with a few paths that cross it to shorten the journey if necessary.

Just 15 km from Quebec City, the Île d’Orléans brings the traditional countryside to life. The poet Félix Leclerc had made it his refuge, his source of inspiration. He said: "The island is forty-two miles (67 km) of peaceful things and landscapes marked by the presence of the St. Lawrence River and its flats, a unique heritage and 350 years of history."

This intermediate level circuit is on the shoulders of route 368, except in villages where you will pedal on the road. Be careful, wear a helmet and ideally install a rearview mirror on your bike.

With more than 130 tourist attractions, we can certainly say that the Île d’Orléans is fertile in favorites. Take the time to appreciate the landscapes, but especially to stop for gourmet breaks, to visit an art shop or have a tasting in a vineyard.

During the week, it's best to start your bike tour around 10 a.m. and leave the island before 3 p.m. to avoid the flood of workers going to or from work in the city. On the weekend, it's the other way around. It is better to drive at the very beginning or at the end of the day, outside the tourist traffic period.
