Located under the Dufferin Terrace near the iconic Château Frontenac, this is the only archeological crypt in North America.

This national historic site showcases the archeological vestiges of the official residence of the French and British governors, which was also the seat of power for the former colony, between 1620 and 1834. Learn the fascinating secrets of the crypt from knowledgeable Parks Canada guides. See the remnants of the four forts and two chateaux (governor's residence) erected on the site over the years, as well as the nearby outbuildings. An approximately 45-minute tour will help you understand and picture what life was like for the governors at the time. Free admission for those aged 17 or under. A special hands-on activity has been organized for children.
