As the guardian of the Fortifications of Québec, Parks Canada invites you to discover this jewel of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The walls of Quebec are a living memory of the city's military past, the only remaining fortified city north of Mexico. Explore the fortifications and discover the history of the French and British regimes that governed Québec City and played a fundamental role in the defence of the colony. Walk along the walls of the fortifications, stand in awe of the work of highly skilled craftsmen, and gain an understanding for how these defensive works shaped the organization and development of the city. Choose between several guided tours by a Parks Canada team member for the complete experience.
Hours: May 18 to November 3, 2019, open daily. Open year-round for groups, upon reservation.
